Atari 800 emulator, Libretro version - has anybody else compiled and installed this? If so, have you got keyboard support working?

Hi,
I've recently located a port of the Atari 8-bit emulator, Atari800, to Libretro. I was able to obtain the source from Github, compile it, and incorporate the new RetroArch core into RetroPie without any problems.
It works brilliantly (and allows me to record footage), but I am having problems with the keyboard support. There's no mention of keyboard issues on the project's message board, and activity seems to have stalled sometime around April 2016.
Any suggestions gratefully received!
