Jedi Power Battles on PCSX-rearmed

Are there any know fixes for running Jedi Power Battles on PS1? I'm trying to run this on RetroPie 4.5.1 with PCSX-rearmed using all the default options, and it repeatably crashes very early into the first stage. I did a search and found some old posts, but I didn't see any solutions.
