Hi there, I am new to using Raspberry Pi and we have just installed RetroPie Ver. 4.5.8. The Pi detects every device we add to it but unfortunately it will not register our X-Arcade Tankstick. I have tried reinstalling RetroPie from the same build from the website to no avail. I have followed the X-Arcade guide, petrock's guide and ETA Prime's guide on YouTube. Here's the info of what we are running. I tried looking up prior issues but was unable to find any that matched mine.

Pi Model or other hardware: Pi B V 2
Power Supply used: Brand: NorthPada Input: AC 100-240V 0.3A 50/60Hz, Output: DC 5V 3000mA/3A
RetroPie Version Used: 4.5.8 (running on Raspbian GNU/Linux 9.11)
Built From: retropie-4.5.1-rpi2_rpi3 (pulled from website)
      USB Devices connected: Keyboard
Controller used: X-arcade tankstick (non detected), usb controller (brand Doodeen)
      Error messages received: None
Log found in /dev/shm/runcommand.log (if relevant):
      Guide used: https://support.xgaming.com/support/solutions/articles/5000554993-how-to-use-x-arcade-with-raspberry-pi and https://blog.petrockblock.com/2014/06/01/xarcade2jstick/
Emulator: (Name of emulator - if applicable)
Attachment of config files: (PLEASE USE PASTEBIN.COM FOR LARGE LOGS)
How to replicate the problem: Unsure

The driver mentioned in the guide is already part of RetroPie - just open the setup script and look in the drivers' section. Did you try to install it from there ?

How old is the Tank Stick? they have released a new controller board that is SO MUCH simpler to get working as it acts as a true gamepad and not a crazy keyboard

I tried installing from the script when I first installed RetroPie then enabled the service. After a reboot I went into Configure Input to find that the X-Arcade stick was not being registered at all. The red light turns on like the stick is receiving power.

@icebear81 - The Tank Stick was bought in the summer of 2017. I have been using it on my PC for awhile with no issues.

@Darlesh Id highly recommend getting the upgraded board, its a game changer

Just checking, you added the xarcade driver which allows the standard tank stick to be seen as two keyboards? Again, it running as a keyboard (which was the original way it was built) is painful
