@GeekOB I've disabled ffmpeg just for testing on my branch - you can re-fetch using the instruction I posted yesterday the RetroArch 1.8.3 branch and try re-installing retroarch from source.
Regarding the ffmpeg library usage in RA, I think it may be a source code bug, since the checks for ffmpeg all yield a positive result (so version seems ok), but compilation doesn't work (with the error you got).

Is the lr-atari800 core still at 3.1.0 for retroarch? I play 5200 because it has a high pitch noise which apparently is fixed in version 4.

@showstopper The Libretro atari800 core hasn't been updated to 4.x (now 4.2.0), it's still at the same version. The bug you mention I think it's already reported, we might patch it locally until upstream includes the fix.

            Hi @mitu and @BuZz ,
I can confirm the lr-atari800 core works properly with RetroArch 1.8.3, both on the Atari 5200 and 8-bit systems. I'm going through all the other cores looking for issues, so far everything seems to be running smoothly.
Is there any particular scenario you'd like me to test?

              Thank you for testing.

Well, if you have overlays - test them and see if you have any problems with it.

Otherwise, just use it normally and see if anything pops up that might look like a bug. Some of the menu options have changed; I think some menu entries are renamed or just appear conditionally (depending on the build options) so that's something which you can expect.

So far so good @mitu. All cores I've been able to test so far run great with and without overlays and shaders, I noticed that RetroArch is being updated to 1.8.4 from source so your testing must have shown the same :)

(can I now safely revert back to the normal RetroPie repo then?)

Sure, reverting will not delete your already installed version.

I am a similar problem where i get runcommand segmentation fault, but I am able to get lr-800 to work if I select the game but press a Key to get the menu before it auto-launches. From the menu I select launch and quickly hold down F1 and it will get into the 800 emulator and I can load the game from there. I hope this is the same problem and they will fix it soon.

@icode I just did a fresh install of 4.6 on a Pi 3B+ and I'm seeing the same issue. In some cases I am able to hit F1 and get to the lr-atari800 emulator menu before it segfaults; from there I can load a game and it works fine, but navigating the menus is a bit of a pain. Just for snicks I put a fresh install of Lakka on another SD card and BOOM! everything works perfectly right out of the box. Hopefully the next RetroPie release will fix this problem so I can switch back.

@mahalingam it was fixed, so if you're getting the issue open a new topic with some info.
