Good day. I apologize right away for my poor English, I'm from Russia. I'm interested in the question about RetroPie. I have been following the project for a long time and I know that in our country this is quite an interesting topic. I read several posts about the sale of Raspberry Pi with RetroPie already installed. I want to go the legal way. We have a supplier in the country who sells Raspberry Pi with installed RetroPie for $ 160. I want to go the honest way, and sell only Raspberry Pi himself, in the case, assembled, ready to use and with joysticks. I’m also ready to leave all the links to the RetroPie project and help clients with questions.
I am interested in a few questions:
-If I sell Raspberry Pi myself and install RetroPie for free, is it illegal?
-Can I have problems with game developers regarding licenses?
My goal is to make life easier for people who want to play old games, but have problems with technology. I would also be glad to donate some part to the development of RetroPie with each purchase. Thanks in advance for the answers.

@Khan said in Questions about the sale:

Yes. You're not just selling Raspberry PI's, you're selling hardware and your services and providing RetroPie with your kit.

-Can I have problems with game developers regarding licenses?

Do you intend to add games to the image, it's illegal - if the game is not specifically free to re-distribute and use. If you're going to have problems with it ? That's another story.

If you want to stay within the legal boundaries, then sell the hardware and provide links and instructions on how to install RetroPie with your hardware. If you provide anything extra besides the system (a case, shutdown switch, gamepads, etc.) add also instructions and/or installation scripts for it so the users will be able to get it up and running without hassle.
