      I installed Kodi because I heard it can stream video, music, etc but I got to a weird screen with TV, Games, Music etc on the side and when I click on TV it asks me to upload a file which is the opposite of streaming.

        @IceChes1 Kodi is a media player. You play your media on it. You point it to your media and it plays. You can install a variety of applications to do other things like watch the iplayer. If you expected Kodi to provide you with content, you have been misinformed. Just read the first page on the kodi website in bold which states that Kodi is not a content provider and is not in any way affiliated to illegal 3rd party apps.

          Never even seen the website, but thank you. Another issue: Why do those apps take FOREVER to install? They take longer to install than manually installing Retropie!

            @IceChes1 In my experience, a kodi app takes less than 10 seconds to install. You should visit: https://kodi.tv/about, particularly the bit which says:
            Disclaimer: Kodi does not provide any media itself. Users must provide their own content or manually point Kodi to third party online services. The Kodi project does not provide any support for bootleg video content.

              What about YouTube? That's what took forever for me.

                @IceChes1 If you install it from the Kodi repo, it takes no time at all. I guess it must have something to do with you trying to do all this from retropie, do you have a proxy setup or wifi etc? Firewalls, could be anything, but I couldn't tell you. I do not use Kodi on retropie, only on a firestick.

                    @IceChes1 I did this:

                    Scroll to and select the Add-Ons menu item
                    Click the small “open box” icon at top left side of page under the “Add-ons heading” Install Kodi Addon
                    Click Install From Repository
                    Select Kodi Add-On Repository
                    Click Video Add-Ons
                    Choose YouTube
                    Click Install

                          Wifi. I know Ethernet is notorious for slow download times.

                              @IceChes1 It's the other way around. Ethernet is not slow. All my devices are hardwired from the router this way with 200+Mbps. Raspberry Pi Wifi is however slow. The 3B+ is slightly better performing in my experience on the wifi though. Glad you are now sorted.
