      Hi all,
I'm testing my new raspi4 2GB with nstalled retropie beta (ver.4.5.4). I cannot found redream in experimental package. Is there a way to add redream to retropie to test it?
      Thanks a lot for support.

You're using an 'old' version and there's no 'beta' image for RetroPie.

        It's not yet there.

Thanks. I installed a 4.5.13 version found in weekly builds. Is there a way to add lr-redream or readream?

@inolen Can you also check the problem with split screen multiplayer games? For example in Propeller Arena, Looney Tunes Space Race, Re Volt, Ooga booga, ..etc the screen just goes black when you try to play them.

You have a you tube video from Chuck_B 18 (few posts before) how to install Redream. Fly-cast can be found at experimental packages.

Thanks, I'll take a look to the video. I found Fly-cast but it cannot compile. It gives an error and not install correctly.

Update the script and try to rebuild again...now it shoud work.

About redream... stable release version v1.5.0 of redream is out :)

@WODAK yah, I just pushed a fix for most of the games (it's literally building right now).

@inolen I see that retropie just added a binary install for redream. Is this the current version? Great work btw, I'm having a blast testing redream out.

@quicksilver yep. their script pulls the latest build from the website at the time of install. split screen support landed about 2 hours ago, so you may need to reinstall if you've installed before then

@WODAK just a heads up, pushed a bad bug related to that change in my rush at night - new dev build up with a fix.

Is there sn option to upscale in Redream. If there is how do I set it up?

                                Currently running:
Retropie 4.8.9 on a Pi Zero 2W (Overclock Settings: CPU 1400Mhz)
                                ES-DE on a GMKtec K6 (Windows 11, 32GB RAM)

@George-Spiggott you can change the resolution in the redream menu. You can also remap controls there as well. I think I had to push right trigger to get into the menu.

@quicksilver Thanks I spotted that. I'm running in 1920x1080 16x9 but there doesn't seem to be any internal upscaling. The graphics look lower res than they do in lr-flycast in 1024x768.

@George-Spiggott I just compared and I see what you mean. Not sure what the answer is then.

@quicksilver window size is the resolution the display is set to - this is separate from the actual Dreamcast video resolution.

redream renders the Dreamcast video at the native resolution of 640x480 by default, and we offer a premium upgrade (more details at https://redream.io/download) that enables higher-resolution rendering / more save state slots. 1280x960 is the next resolution up and it's not perfect yet, most games can hit 40-50 fps at 1280x960 with a few hitting 50+ (e.g. Soul Calibur) but it's not yet a constant 60.

Note that when you raise the window size you're causing the monitor to be configured to that resolution and the Dreamcast video is scaled to fit (but note, that RPI has to do this scaling which is expensive if the window size is large). You ideally want the window size set to a resolution that's as closee to the Dreamcast video resolution as possible in order to offload that scaling scaling to the display itself.

@inolen thanks for the explanation. So if I understand you correctly it is best to set the display resolution in the redream menu to 640x480 if our tv/monitor supports it correct?

@quicksilver depends on the aspect ratio of the display, i use 720x480 on my monitor.
