I am running a raspberry pi 2 I think or 3. I bought sd card with EmulationStation. I bought and installed arcade kit but forgot to add start and select. I am trying to get to first setup again and redo buttons and controls along with hot keys and can’t figure how to get it all to reboot fresh. I want to redo controls in startup. Is there a way to do this I am using us keyboard. I F4 and every command I tried failed. Said not there. Help?

We don't support 3rd party images or systems bought with RetroPie - https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first. Selling RetroPie is against the project's license.
If you'd like to use RetroPie, get one of the images from retropie.org.uk/download and then follow the installation instructions from the Docs to use it.
