      I installed redream today. It can load a game, but I have no controls. I find that I have a symlink to redream.cfg in /opt/retropie/emulators/redream, but the file doesn't exist. Couldn't find any info on manually configuring controllers. Anyone know how to do this? Thanks.

        @rejesterd Try pressing esc on the keyboard. It should bring up the menu.

          @mitu Thanks, that worked. Is there a keyboard shortcut to save the binds once I've mapped them? Seems that after I restart a game, I have to map them again.

          Edit: All set.. found the 'save' button :)

            @rejesterd Pay attention to the icon :). I don't know, for me the menu constantly crashes the emulator once I open it.

              Where is the save button to save the input mapping?.

                @DanceingBlade You have to back out to the 'Now Playing' option in the menu up top first. In the 'Now Playing' screen, you can see a 'Save' button in the top-right area. That will save the controller mappings.

                  I had the same issue that my settings (BTW: not just controller config, all settings!) weren't saved. I also could not find the save button in the top right of the now playing screen as written in this topic. There is a save button, but that just saves a state of a game)

                  when I looked at /dev/shm/runcommand.log i noticed that redream coredumped at saving the settings (segmentation fault) when I exited redream, which seems to be the cause of the unsaved settings.

                  I fixed it (see below), so i cannot reproduce anymore. But i think there are some bugs in the controller config if you configure 2 controllers on the same keyboard (i use an ipac2, so i have to...)

                  I fixed as follows:

                  • I manually installed a redream (from redream.io) in a different directory
                  • then I changed just one setting (video resolution) and exited. There was no coredump and i had a valid config file.
                  • then I manually changed the cfg file to the settings I needed and copied this file back to /opt/retropie/configs/dreamcast/redream/redream.cfg
                  • Good news is that I also noticed that when I change settings now, redream no longer coredumps and the settings are saved!

                  here's my file:

                  port0=dev:2,desc:keyboard,type:controller

                  backfixed=0
                  savesfixed=1

                  BTW: This config is quite nice for people with an IPAC2: Cause this way you can use the 2 joysticks on the ipac2 for redream. I also made sure TAB and ESC are use the same way as in mame, so the behaviour all buttons is exactly the same as in other emulators on my retropie arcade cabinet.

                    @rejesterd I don't see that SAVE button. Any image that you can share?? The only save I see seems is for state save. Thanks!

                      @Zetorian I think you will not see it because it does not exist, I spent days looking for it :), save the changes automatically if you do not save them, then it is easy for the same thing to happen to you, read this post

                        @akamming I’m in the same boat as you as far as running an ipac2 in redream. I can’t seem to configure my input for more than one controller per port. Can you please walk me through how to get it up and running. I did read what you did for a workaround but I’m pretty new to the raspberry pi and found it a little hard to understand. Thanks in advance!
