2 player with GamePi43?

Re: What handhelds are everyone using for RetroPie?
Hey everyone! I have a Pi 3B+ I installed in a GamePi43 case/controller following the manual installation instructions on waveshares gamepi wiki page. Everything works, but I tried to play a two player game the other day and found that it doesn’t read a controller when I plug it in via usb. Is there a way to manually install a controller driver or some way around this to do multiplayer on the GamePi43?

Please add more info about your system, as detailed in https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first.
What controller are you using ? Did you configure it in EmulationStation - is it detected there ?

@mitu thanks for the reply! I will make it more detailed:
I have a Raspberry Pi 3 B+ With the GamePi43 case
It runs on two 18600 lithium ion batteries
Version 4.5 downloaded from retropie websiteI installed the GamePi43 case following the instructions under “Method 2: Install Driver Manually”
Here’s a link to the website:
https://www.waveshare.com/wiki/GamePi43Once I installed it and booted up emulationstation I configured the case/controller, it’s kinda like a gameboy ate a snes controller, and boom bam I was playing my games on the GamePi43! Everything else about it works but I tried plugging in my Vilros SNES USB game pad in the port 1 but no Configuration Menu popped up. I tried plugging the controller into all the other available slots and nothing..
I do use a flash drive in Port 0 that contains my games. Would that maybe have something to do with it?
Is there maybe a way to connect a keyboard and manually install a controller driver? I’m pretty new to all this and installing retropie is the only experience I’ve ever had with command prompts.
Thanks! -

The input configuration pops up when you don't have anything configured or there's no gamepad connected. Given you always have a gamepad connected, it's not going to. Instead, go to "Input configuration" from the EmulationStation menu and configure your USB gamepad.
