Epic Noir - Dark Mode Theme

@Jste84 Do you have configured your indicators properly? you have to rename them too, for example if you set mame as the first system, you have to rename the indicator with the first dot as mame, so if you decide to display mame first, you also make the indicator named mame display the dot in first place.
You have to do it with all 18 systems, auto favorites is always the last system showed so it will display automatically -
@Jste84 Check the indicators folder now, we have updated them, its very easy to set up:
-
@chicuelo I've renamed the indicators.. they all work perfectly apart from power.
-
@Jste84 could it be because power isn't last in my indicators?
-
-
@Jste84 It should work, if the name matches it has to be displayed.
The system is displayed but ain't the indicator?
Make sure you name the folder as "power" (case sensitive), you have also tu place the files on the roms directory inside a "power" folder. -
@chicuelo it is displayed... Just not in order.... Tried to video the end result... But I can't uploaded it even after shrinking
Thanks for your help... I'm not sure why it's not working.
-
@Jste84 Im seeing on your snapshots that you have:
...
Gameboy Color
Power
Mame-libretro
...they will be displayed in that order, you have to move power to the 18th position, in order to match the graphic criteria. If you have more than 18 systems, those who are below wont have indicator

That's not how the theme is working for me. I have 16 dots on the page... Then a settings icon, then the power icon then the favourites icon. Power is currently in 18th position in es systems
When I get to the 16th indicator (the last system) which in my case is N64. When I scroll down. I've got it show the next console as dot 1 (in my case new). So when I scroll down from N64... It doesn't go to settings, power or favourites... It goes to nes... This is great as it's what I want it to do.
When I scroll down from bed it works fine, goes to dot 5 - pc engine I scroll down again and it takes me to power - and in turn the power indicator 2nd from bottom. If I scroll down again it takes me to dot 6 Sony PSP. I then scroll down again until I get to the bottom of my systems and then It goes to settings and favourites...

@Jste84 I think you have more indicator files than you should, if you say that after N64 that is your 16th system you have nes, and instead you must have retropie menu (number 17 and before power that is 18) after N64, not nes, but maybe you have another indicator file, with the white dot in first place called nes, so you have 2 (or more) files with the first white dot, and it doesn´t matter in which order you place the system, when you are on that system it will show the first white dot.
Can you paste here your es_systems?
-
@chicuelo Yes I also think that the Zelda series is one of the best games on SNES and N64 however it just seems better to not have the same identical poster on both SNES and SFC. I know how to manually edit the xml files and change the poster for the system. What I do not know is how you got the black fading effect on the poster so that it fades within the menu/indicators.
It doesn't have to be Bomberman for SFC. It could even be Super Mario World. Just an example.

@tpo1990 one of the most hard tasks on making this theme was finding or greating the image, not any image could go with the theme, if you find a very good one I could prepare

Hey all,
Apologies for the delay in uploading the latest changes but I've been quite busy with some other programming projects and I had to keep the theme in the back burner for a moment.
As Nico / @chicuelo mentioned, the latest fixes are now online. In the next few days I'll be working on the Power scripts (shutdown, exit, reboot etc) and I'll upload them also for testing.
If anyone has any issues or any wishes please let us know. :) -
A small ask...Is there any chance that there will be any images for Commodore systems added eg VIC20 & Commodore 16. I only ask as I use both these systems and I have created the system folders etc but my artwork is naff. I used game images of Blitz for VIC20 and some other game art for the C16 but both looks out of place.
I have tried to find images of games like Blitz that resemble the other art work but no avail.
Please...…
Kind Regards
CCF

@CCFox Let me see what can I find out, I have some other systems to add too, I think in a while I will upload them

I love this theme, thanks!
Maybe it's just me but it crashes ES immediately on 4.6 on a Pi 4. Can't seem to find any logs so if anyone can point me in the right direction here it would be appreciated.
Also, is there a way to remove the pictures of the actual systems? :)

EmulationStation logs are in
\\retropie\configs\all\emulationstation
- you can check there for errors. -
Logs are here: https://pastebin.com/9gWfm7hH
ES seems to be generally very sluggish (with Carbon) on Pi 4, which I didn't see on my Pi 3b+. Maybe something else is off... Clean install so shouldn't be anything affecting the perfomance either.
Edit: Seems the lag is related to the 4k output according to other threads, so not relevant here I guess.
-
@Stuffu On my Pi I have also to split memory up to 512mb and set vram to 150 mb
