XArcade Tankstick (newest version in 2020) - can't get additional usb XBox One gamepad to work?
-
Hi there.
I have my Tankstick (latest model purchased in 2020) with the v3 PCB (I think). Its the tankstick with the new red LED button on the top right.
All is great. Everything works. Both players. Mame is my primary focus, so that is all I care about now.
I am currently in Mode 4 on the tankstick using the Xarcade2jstick driver.
However, when I plugin and configure an Xbox One wired controller, configure it and try to use it, it only works in the main menu.
Once I get into a game, it won't work. Only my tankstick player 1 and player 2 work.Is this because the Xarcade2jstick emulates as an Xbox controller or am I missing something because this wired USB controller is effectively controller 3?
I am sure I am missing something simple, but I would love to know since I want to add a second wired controller to have games play head to head using gmaepads, not the tankstick.
And moving forward, I want to add another pair of USB Nintendo like controllers for the simple games...
So 6 possible controllers that I want to be able to use as Player 1 and Player 2 depending on what is picked up at the time.Again, I am sure I am missing something simple. Sorry, I am very new to retropie, arch and emustation and its been a few years since I've done any emulation, so I am trying to catch up quickly. :)
Anyway....
Thanks in advance and AWESOME project!!!

No and yes - the new controller is most likely assigned the P3 slot and it won't work as a P1 or P2.

And moving forward, I want to add another pair of USB Nintendo like controllers for the simple games..Since your Tankstick is always connected, it might always be assigned the P1/P2 slots, so any new controller(s) will appear as P3(P4, etc.). You can re-order the controllers with something like https://github.com/meleu/RetroPie-joystick-selection or with the Configuration Editor.
