Tried to update system, ended horribly. Total noob needs help
-
So I was gifted a system with RetroPie on it (a RetroPi system cabinet) from a man who had no more use for it. Tonight I stupidly decided to update RetroPie and it went extremely poorly, and now nothing will run. Any attempts to go into the setup will loop the exact same attempts to update the system, which mostly fail. None of the emulators function anymore (shock!), it is very borked, and I have zero idea what I am doing or how to fix this. Any help would be superb. From he screen I have seen a thousand times:
Linux retropie 3.18.9-v7+ #4 SMP PREEMPT

Did not find needed package(s):lsb-release. I am trying to install them now.

Unsupported OS -
It looks like your installation is quite old and I'd say updating will not work, (Unsupported OS), and the current version does not support your - very old - Raspbian version.
If you'd like to use a current version, then use the image from retropie.org.uk/download and re-image your sdcard. You can back-up your ROMs via file shares - https://retropie.org.uk/docs/Updating-RetroPie/#making-a-backup-option-2.
