MUGENPLUS64 - cannot upload inputautocfg.ini to opt/retropie/configs folder
-
Hi all hope you're all safe out there!
I'm at my tether - accidentally deleted inputautocfg.ini from opt/retropie/configs folder. So now when I run a n64 game, no presses on gamepad register!!! Stuck on start screen!
I took a backup of the file however it own't let me upload the file! Permission denied?
Using cyberduck on a mac. Uploaded heaps of roms today so no issue.
In fact, if I go to a rom folder to upload a rom file, it will upload. But if I try to upload the inputautocfg.ini file, in the same folder, it says permission denied??Running retropie 4.4 on a raspberry pi v3
running macbook pro and cyberduckI have tried the following and searched endlessly
*edited sshd_config file and changed root password to login in as root to successfully upload file (still wont let me login as root)
*tried copying and pasting text into the existing (blank) ini file (wont save)- tried updating mugen64plus package from binary and source on retropie
Assistance would be greatly appreciated, I am at witts end with this thing!!!!
Thank you in advance :)

Brand new install of Retropie from official image
Which image ? The latest image is 4.5.1, you said you're running 4.4 ?
The file you mention (
InputAutoCfg.ini
), should be in/opt/retropie/configs/n64/
, not directly in/ opt/retropie/configs/all
. However, you should be able - as userpi
- to write to that folder - did you change any permissions on your RetroPie installation ? Have you logged in via ssh asroot
and changed permissions and/or file flags ?You can add back the
pi
user as owner of the folder with:sudo chown -R pi /opt/retropie/configs/n64`
then try to re-configure your input in EmulationStation, this should re-generate the input configuration file for the N64 emulator.

@mitu thanks but still could not get to work - I've found instructions on how to reformat a retropie SD card on mac, will just start again with fresh image :)
