So I was watching a video By ETA PRIME showing how to boost the resolution on my PSX emulator (BTW DIDNT WORK EVEN THO HE SAID IT WOULD WORK ON MY RASPBERY PIE 3). I did what he said to do in the video, after I did so, it wasn't taking any buttons I was pressing.

I updated my retropie and the script, I reseted my button thing on Emulation Station, and nothing. In other emulators and in the Emulation Station everything works fine, but when I try to play a PS1 game it doesn't work. No button Responses what so ever.

Now I tried nearly every PS1 game I have downloaded and none take my button responses except Spider-man and Spider-man Enter Electro for some odd reason. On some games it asks me to plug in a controller so I wonder if I touched something I shouldn't have or a glitch in my Pie.

I've tried alot of things forum through Reddit page and nothing has helped.

      PROBLEMS
-PSX EMULATOR NOT LETTING ME PRESS BUTTONS (CONTROLLER NOT WORKING IN PSX EMULATOR, BUT IN OTHERS AND ES WORKS)

      WHAT I HAVE
      -Raspberry Pie 3b+
-Using a Dualshock 4 (I'm sure this isnt the problem)

If anyone knows how to fix this or has any tips please lmk!!

      Thanks!

@thomas-ap Please provide the rest of the information asked in https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first and in particular what version of RetroPie are you using and what installation method you used.

@mitu I'm using Version 4.5.19 and I downloaded it through the pie.
I'm not using the correct power supply because they're a bit too expensive for a block and cable.
The Emulator I'm using is PCSX-ReARMed and i have the correct BIOS.
I've received 0 error messages When I start up ANY PSX game, the bottom left corner says ("Controller" configured in port #0) with a checkmark but it still doesn't take any button inputs such as when it asks me to press start,
          nothing happens.

Maybe you're stumbling across this issue. Check how your Pad 1 is set, some games will not work if it's set to RetroPad w/ Analog or vice-versa.

@mitu Alright thank you so much, I've discovered that the reason that my control only worked on Spider-Man was because that game supported Dualshock and not all ps1 games support Dualshock. What happened is when I went into the options menu, I had the pad type originally on standard and moved it to Dualshock, not all ps1 games are compatible with Dualshock and are only playable through Standard pad type. Thanks for the article @mitu I really appreciate it homie ❤.
