Pi Model or other hardware: Pi 4B+
Power Supply used: Samsung Power Brick (no power warning)
      RetroPie Version Used: 4.5.19 rpi4
      Built From: weekly download https://files.retropie.org.uk/images/weekly/
USB Devices connected: 2 Dragonwise USB
      Controller used: Dragonwise USB
      Guides used: https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/15998/some-1280x1024-overlays https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/4046/crt-pi-shader-users-reduce-scaling-artifacts-with-these-configs-in-lr-mame2003-lr-fbalpha-lr-nestopia-and-more-to-come
      Emulator: MAME-2003

How to replicate the problem: Install overlays from here manually https://github.com/Andrew-H2O/RPie-1280-ovl, this worked and the overlays appeared however the overlay blocked the left and right sides of game so i followed guide https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/4046/crt-pi-shader-users-reduce-scaling-artifacts-with-these-configs-in-lr-mame2003-lr-fbalpha-lr-nestopia-and-more-to-come and created a new folder and copied the 1280x1024 MAME-2003 files over. When I check in game crt-pi-vertical shader is in use but the edges are still blocked.

I'm really quite puzzled I don't think the second guide shader thing is working properly as I believe that is supposed to make scaling fit with overlays.

      Thanks

I don't think the shaders (crt-pi-vertical) are supposed to correct the incorrect cropping from the overlay - I think @dankcushions might be able to confirm/infirm this. The problem is that your resolution might not match the one used by the overlay/game.

@mitu My monitor resolution is 1280x1024, the overlay is 1280x1024 I'm not sure about the game but this error is referenced in the overlay repository with the vertical shaders and some configuration files as the solution, however I can't figure out what or how I'm supposed to do it.

I had this issue too, followed same process, but they still overlap the vertical games.
