      Hi guys,

New member, long time fan and reader.

Is there any way to tell if an image has already been "pishrunk"?

I have a new SD card that is 249GB but my build is 253GB and therefore doesn't fit.

I have attempted to Pishrink however when completed, it says the final size is the same as the original. Now, I don't know if thats my error as its been a while since I have done this...

Is there a way to tell if I already PiShrunk my Image?

Post the full pishrink log, but if pishrink determined it cannot reduce your image further, it's irrelevant if it's been shrinked or not - it looks like there's nothing left to shrink.

          rootfs: 396808/15236672 files (0.7% non-contiguous), 60899202/61641112 blocks
          resize2fs 1.42.13 (17-May-2015)
          resize2fs 1.42.13 (17-May-2015)
Resizing the filesystem on /dev/loop0 to 61637112 (4k) blocks.
          Begin pass 2 (max = 3798)
          Relocating blocks XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
          Begin pass 3 (max = 1882)
          Scanning inode table XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
The filesystem on /dev/loop0 is now 61636608 (4k) blocks long.

          Shrunk Image.img from 236G to 236G

So it says the img file is 236G however my mac shows it as 253GB in finder. Any ideas why?

The file is actually the same size. What is happening is that some programs/OS see a megabyte as equal to 1000 bytes and other programs will recognize a megabyte as 1024 bytes. The amount of bytes is therefore the same but the amount of megabytes differ.

If you don't delete something from it, it won't fit.
