Naomi / Atomiswave problem
-
Hi there!, I`ve just flashed the official build for pi4 (4gb model). Everything works fine BUT, I cant make Naomi / Atomiswave appear in emulationstation, so I decided to modify es_systems.cfg, added Naomi first, but when I restart, even Naomi appears, games doesnt launch. Im using the roms decompressed (they came decompressed) listed with .lst, .nvmem, .eeprom and .bin.
What shoud I add to get working naomi and atomiswave?
I couldnt find anything in forum.
Thanks!

I remember reading a guide on github about raspberry Pi Naomi emulation which stated that files had to remain zipped and named in the MAME manner, ie. cleoftp
Mine are zipped and appear in my gamelists, whether they work on my Pi 3 I have not yet established (I'm guessing they don't).Actually it was on this forum, here it is :

@kidcoltrane41 Naomi/Atomiswave ROM should be copied to the
dreamcast
system, chooselr-flycast
to run them. -
@mitu how do I select lr flycast to run them? I mean, entering any dreamcast game and pressing a button just changes dreamcast emulator, not naomi/atomiswave
-
and which format do I need for the roms? I have many files for just one game, as I said in first post :(

Flycast recommends to use MAME ROMs for Naomi/Atomiswave, so you should have a
.zip
file and a correspondingchd
in a subfolder.I mean, entering any dreamcast game and pressing a button just changes dreamcast emulator.
Exactly, when launching a Naomi/Atomiswave rom, choose
lr-flycast
for the ROM. -

Whether you make your naomi/aw appear in emulationstation or not, do not use the lst/bin format if you are not looking for issues. It is strongly recommended to use the MAME zip/chd rom format instead.

@mitu it doesnt leave me select it, just shows options for video configurations, anyway, ill download the romset zip/chd and ill try. If I have some problem let you know here. Thanks!

The Romsey has to be post 0.198 too!
Putting the zip loose in the Naomi folder and the chd in a subfolder named like the zip definitely works.

And don't forget the bioses in flycast's bios folder

Does every NAOMI-Rom need a CHD?
I have some (for MAME 0.218) with 100+MB per zip-File - but no CHDs :/ -

Generally if you've got a relatively chunky zip file, the game doesn't need a chd. If you have a zip file that's only a couple of kb in size, you'll need the CHD to get it to run (spiker's battle is one that definitely has a CHD)

I'm not sure if all of them require, what I do is check on http://adb.arcadeitalia.net/ by searching the game and looking at the page details. For instance Capcom Vs. SNK 2 Mark Of The Millennium 2001 is marked to require a CHD and there's also details on the required files and their names.

Thank you both!

No, the chd are only required for games that were on optical media, in this case the zip file only contains some stuff to decrypt the chd and sometimes a default eeprom.
