Raspberry Pi will go to sleep after 4.6 update
-
I went through the internal update process within RetroPie (Raspberry Pi 3 B), updating from 4.5.9 to 4.6 and everything seemed to work very well initially.
I like to keep the Pi on in the background while I upload and back-up roms, etc. I connect to the IP address using Windows Explorer on another PC to see the files on the Pi. After the 4.6 update though, the Raspberry Pi times-out or goes to sleep after about 10 minutes and I lose the connection to the Pi. This never used to happen.
Previously, if I left Emulation Station open, the screen would fade-out a little but I could still access the files from another computer. Then, I could just use the bluetooth controller or keyboard on the Pi to wake it up again. Now, the controllers and USB wired Keyboard won't even wake it up. I have to hard reboot/shutdown. As a test, I shut down Emulation Station and left the Pi on, but it still goes to "Sleep" after 10 minutes or so.
Anyway, I just wanted to see if anyone else is running into this problem?
About a week ago I followed the same procedure and updated from 4.5.8 to 4.5.9 and didn't run into this timeout/connection issue. Maybe it's a bug in 4.6?
In the mean time, I have restored my Pi from a saved image and everything is working well again; I can leave my Pi inactive for hours and copy files all I want.
I'll avoid an update again until I can figure this out. :)

Quite unlikely, since for the 3B, there are no OS updates for Raspbian Stretch and, as you said, this happens even if EmulationStation is not started - so there's no RetroPie related software running.
Did you changed/added something on the Pi system since your last update ?

@mitu No, didn't make any changes as I got it formatted how I like it, pretty much. Just the odd new ROM addition here and there.
If no one else is having problems, maybe I'll just try to update it again in a few days and see what happens.

@JL-2600 UPDATE: I ending up trying to update to 4.6 again, but this time it updated only RetroPie and nothing else. Everything seems to be working just fine this time!
When I originally tried the update a few days ago, it also updated the emulators, so perhaps it was one of those emulator updates that was causing the problem.
Thanks!
