i can't seem to drive proper in APB (All Points Bulletin)

As the title states i can't seem to drive proper in APB (All Points Bulletin) I'm running retropie 3.8.1 on a Pi 2 B in Advance MAME and when i try to play the car just spins when i try to turn. Now this game when it ran in the arcade it used a wheel but i have ran this before on PC and not had the same issue and help would be awesome. also i have messed with the settings in the emu with no luck so I'm just not sure what to do that's why i'm asking here thanks again.

I'm not able to try it at the moment, but it's likely that you'll need to configure the sensitivity of the emulated analog controls from the 'Tab' menu.
