      Hi!

I thought I should fix the last thing I haven't been able to properly get to work, the arcade roms.

I know that there are a lot of posts on this but I haven't found an answer to my specific problems.

So, the setup is that all roms placed are in Arcade folder, 0.139 romset for Mame2010 that I first had in mind using. Many roms works, some don't. I've read that many prefer the lr-fbneo emulator over Mame from a performance perspective so I thought I should give it a shot. But every single rom quits back to ES immediately.

My thoughts are either that maybe specific romsets are required for FB Neo? Can I even use latest Mame romsets? What romsets are recommended for FB Neo (I run RetroPie 4.6 on a Pi 4)?

My other thought is that maybe a BIOS is needed. I have the neogeo.zip, also placed in arcade folder, but maybe something else is missing.

I have tried puzzle together info from various sources but don't get closer than this...

      Ay advice is appreciated! :)

      Edit: typo

FB Neo needs its own romset, see https://retropie.org.uk/docs/FinalBurn-Neo/#lr-fbneo for more information.

There's also a whole section about (re)building romsets in the docs: https://retropie.org.uk/docs/Validating%2C-Rebuilding%2C-and-Filtering-ROM-Collections/

@Clyde Thanks, I will look into that more. Is it worth the time to switch to FB Neo specific romsets? rebuilding romsets sounds above my level :)

Are there different versions of the fb neo romsets? I get somewhat confused by this:

          https://retropie.org.uk/docs/FinalBurn-Neo/#lr-fbneo

          lr-fbneo

ROM Version: Subset of latest MAME/HBMAME roms available

FBNeo romsets are not static, meaning if you update the core you have to check if romsets were updated too.
Romsets are based on latest known dumps.

@barbudreadmon Cool, that’s what I needed. I started my RetroPie project years ago but haven’t managed to get the arcade games the way I wanted until now :)
