Is it possible to use the original EmulationStation 2.0 theme with RetroPie? - and will it / has it been updated to support video?

      Thank you

@vretro Which theme is that ? The default theme in RetroPie is Carbon and it supports videos.

@mitu I was referring to the theme from EmulationStation 2.0 as seen on EmulationStation.org which shipped with early versions of RetroPie 2.x / 3.x (2014-2015) prior to the current default.

I figure I could check out an older version of RetroPie to get the early default theme I’m referencing, and add video support, if someone hasn’t already done so?

(Sorry this thread wasn’t started in “Projects and Themes”.

I see - this looks like https://github.com/RetroPie/es-theme-simple, a variant of the original theme (https://github.com/nilsbyte/simple).

Why not ? It's still available in the RetroPie ES Themes installer, so you don't have to dig out an old RetroPie image. You can either fork the project or submit changes to the RetroPie repository.

That's ok, you can do a post there when it's ready and describe the changes.
