1 controller controls 2 players
-
Hello, I am fairly new to this forum and also on working with raspberrys and retropie. I wanted to play Megabomberman 94 on the standard megadrive emulator, included in retropie. I' ve connected 2 PS4 Controllers over Bluetooth and everything worked fine. But if I connect an additional 3rd controller over USB (Nintendo switch pro controller) the trouble begins. One controller works fine, another controller controls 2 persons and the last controls nothing. In the emulator setup I've changed the input slots (all 3 were found and work great on their own), but the only thing happens, is that another controller works, another controls 2 players and another controls nothing. So changing the joystick slots, also only changes this rotation. Anyone here with enough knowledge to help me maybe? I would be super grateful.

That' because the original system didn't have 3 controller ports, but only 2. You need to simulate a MultiTap for the 2nd player.
I'm not sure if the default emulator for Megadrive has support for multitap, but the alternative emulator installed (lr-genesis-plus-gx
) does, you need to open the RGUI while in-game (withHotkey +X
) and go toControls -> Port 2
and change the Device Type to MD Joypad 3 Button + 4-WayPlay to simulate a multitap device and allow more than 2 players. Exit the Port 2 settings and then use 'Save Core Remap File` to make the changes permanent. -
@mitu a huge thank you! It works like a charm!
