No Input for SNES emulator
-
RP3 with Retro V. 3.8.1
I have a PS3 Connected Via BT and I have no issues navigating the menu..Launching PS games or N64 Games.
But when I launch a SNES game the PS3 controller does not respond.Am I missing something?
-
which emulator ?
-
This would be for the pisnes & snes9x...the rom starts successfully but no input.
As for the lr-armsnes/lr-carsfc/lr-pocketsnes/lr-snes9x-next...those do not start the rom....the screen just goes back to the rom list. -
@jayp188 the two emulators you chose require manual configuration. Best to debug why lr- ones are not working.

Ok, got it.
How should I proceed debugging?
Im still new at this. -
Hi there
I have also a PS3 controller although connected via cable. I would also like to use snes9x or pisnes. snes9x and pisnes have smoother grafic. They add some image processing or something.
I am aware that they need manual configuraiton of the controller, but i don't get it running.I added the snes9x.cfg file to /opt/retropie/configs/snes and rebooted. In pisnes I have no control at all, not even keyboard is working, I cant even use the escape key. With snes9x I have keyboard control but no game controllerer. I don't know where the keyboard mapping is comming from for snes9x.
Here my config file:
--cut--
[Joystick]
#Get codes from "jstest /dev/input/js0"
#from package "joystick"
A_1=13
B_1=14
X_1=12
Y_1=15
L_1=10
R_1=11
START_1=3
SELECT_1=0
#Joystick axis
#JA_LR=0
#JA_UD=1
#Joystick DPAD buttons
LEFT_1=7
RIGHT_1=5
UP_1=4
DOWN_1=6
--cut--File permissions should be good:
pi@retropie:/opt/retropie/configs/snes $ ls -lath snes9x.cfg
-rw-r--r-- 1 pi pi 417 Aug 7 13:00 snes9x.cfgHere some details:
