I am running newest version of retropie when configuring 2 arcade sytle controllers I run into a issue where neither work correctly. So what happens is when I go into a game the first controller buttons change from what I set them as. Example: up turns into down and vise versa. Some buttons don't even work The 2nd controller works but some buttons have changed also. The d pad stays the same like it should. Please help I've tried going into the retroarch settings and mapping the buttons correctly and saving that but after reboot it goes right back to the same issue. If I unplug the 2nd controller the 1st controller works fine. I'm lost need some help

Make sure you have them correctly wired, both controllers should be installed the same way. I suspect the 2nd controller is wired differently from the first. Also check your arcade sticks are installed the same way.

As mitu said: more info is needed...

But as I experienced some weird issues with 2 (generic) snes-type controllers with retroflags NESPI and SNESPI cases (the nespi is using a 4port hub with one USB port from the raspi, whereas the SNES variant is routing each USB Port from the Raspi to the outside) - On the NES/HUB Case the controllers behave really weird (1), on the SNES Case they are working fine... i replicated the error in using an uncased raspberry and connecting the controllers directly to the raspi and via a 4port USB2.0 Hub...
--> if you connected them via a Hub, try it without it... otherwise, back to mitus request...

[1]: Most of the time they work if on 1st boot the 2nd. Controller is unpluged and is just added after Emulation Station is up an ready to go...
p.S.: If I ever have the mood/feeling to hunt down descriped problem/observation I will open a seperate topic for it...

@Krakatoa everything is plugged in the exact same way. Nothing different.
