Hi. I have a raspberry pi 4 with the raspbian distribution and that's where I have retropie and where I play. But I have a problem. The other day I downloaded the Nintendo DS emulator and wanted to try some game, so I downloaded one and when I tried to play it, the screen turned black with a pixelated white streak on the left, and then when I try to close it it tells me that it doesn't respond

Please add more info about your system, as detailed in https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first.
Are you using DraStic as included in RetroPie or did you download it separately ? You seem to be running RetroPie/EmulationStation from the desktop, which is not a tested and supported configuration.

Well, to install retropie, I followed this tutorial: https://www.redeszone.net/2018/05/06/instalar-retropie-app-raspberry-pi/
I've tried with DraStic and nothing. I've also tried lr-desmume and lr-desmume 2015, but it doesn't respond when entering the game. I download these emulators from retropie, not from another side.
Is there anything else I can tell you about my problem?

I've also tried other emulators like N64, Mame, Game Boy Advance... and they work great. It's just with the nds roms.

Then maybe the NDS roms are not correct - have you tried to run them in another emulator, on your PC ?

Yes I have tried them on other emulators, but they just either do not open or the screen remains blank and I have to force the closing of the retropie because it doesn't respond. And it's weird because I have downloaded the roms from different sites to try them but nothing happens.

@PAFB8 Try to install using the image from retropie.org.uk/download, using the desktop to run RetroPie is not tested/supported. The only viable NDS emulator on the Pi is drastic, other emulator(s) are too slow to be a working alternative.
