Disable F4 or mapping other keys to quit ES in Retropie

Hi all!!,

I has been looking in internet how to disable the F4 key or change for another combination of keys, but now, some days later of reading a lot of post I still does´t know how to do it.

I am using a Raspberry 3B+ with Retropie 4.5.1

If someone know how to do it, please tell me how, or I think that I will get crazy!!!

You need to modify the source code and re-compile it to disable the F4 key. Any particular reason you'd want to do it ?

I'm working hard enough to make an arcade machine to my liking and I don't want that my brother copy or modify anything about my project. Since he is doing another one and he did not want to support me at the beginning when I did not know anything about the raspberry. It´s a Brother´s War!!
Today at day, I have my own Theme, with my own configuration, because I have been make too a Joystick without cables using a remote of ps3, etc etc

So, How can I modify the source and re-compile it? Are any tutorial or manual to learn how to do this?

That's a stupid reason to disable the F4 key.
