      Hi Everyone,

Firstly big thanks to anyone that has helped me on the forum (especially @mito ), my Bartop is nearly just the way I want it which has been a long time coming...

One question today - Can someone let me know the easiest way to enable me to power down my system (pi) from Attract Mode? I mean without having to attach a keyboard and go to terminal etc. Ideally Id like to setup some sort of button combo to power down right from Attract Mode.

      Any help much appreciated..

      Jamie

I think you configure the Exit Command in Attract Mode to run a system shutdown message - see http://forum.attractmode.org/index.php?topic=1140.15.

@mitu thankyou for the link. As always I need a little bit of light shed:

So is this to be done on the retropie terminal?

Sorry for being dim just not sure what to do!

          Cheers

          Jamie

Actually, I was referring to the next-to-last message in the topic:

This worked, thank you very much.
I also noticed there was a pull request on github to add this as a feature: https://github.com/mickelson/attract/pull/363

Which goes to https://github.com/mickelson/attract/pull/363, which has led to

            2de6b3b2-1010-474c-b7df-7d0b3958b424-image.png

meaning you can change the Exit text from the Attract Mode settings, without editing any files.

@mitu thanks so much for clearing that up...I did that on the attract mode settings menu and it worked.
I put in 'sudo shutdown' as the command - it takes it to the retropie terminal and a 60 second countdown begins till shutdown. So you know if there is a different command that shuts it off right away (without the countdown)?

              Cheers
              Jamie

@jamietuley yes, you can use this command,

                sudo shutdown now

which will shutdown the system immediately, however, do note that it will not cut off power to the system, so that means that the system will still use a little bit of power, even after shuting it down.
