      Is this normal, because it’s a beta? Or is this just me, it only happens after second boot

        It's not a 'feature' and it hasn't been reported so far, the boot time is pretty minimal.
        Please provide the information asked in https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first to better diagnose the issue.

          I get much faster boot times with my bluetooth (8bitdo) controllers turned off. Since that's an acceptable workaround for me, I haven't dug in to figure out what's wrong. My expected boot time is around 30 seconds on a 4. I'm only running retropie.
