What are people’s experience with playing Gameboy advanced games on the Zero?

I have a Retroflag GPI and the GBA version of Mario kart really stutters for me. I just assumed the Zero couldn’t handle it, but i wanted to see if that normal or if maybe I need to set something up differently.

Reading on the forum apparently gpsp is the best gba emulator, but it doesn’t run for me. When I try to use it, just sends me back to menu.

@Haemogoblin are you running lr-gpsp or the standalone?

just to double check do you have the gba_bios.bin on your system as if memory serves both the libretro and standalone gpsp both require the bios weras the other gba emulators will actually run without it

thats most likely your problem then if you get your hands ont he gba_bios.bin you should fix your return to menu issue as always the bios go in

also took the liberty of looking at the retropie wiki for the first time in a long time and pretty much confirmed my memory

for mgba and vba bios are optional that being said some games can have compatability issues without the bios anyway so having it on your system always helps

The gpsp/lr-gspsp emulators have an issue with on the most recent Raspbian release (reported upstream), it's not about the BIOS being present of not.

                        Hey guys

I followed your advice and I'm pleased to report that GBA games are now working under the other emulator and they are working really well. No more stutter! Thank you! Finally my GPI can run more than GB games! :D
