      Hi all,
I have been driving myself crazy for weeks over this. I would like to know how to stop the 'SELECT' button sending an 'Insert Coin' signal in MAME.

I am using a Mini-PAC in an arcade cabinet, my coin doors are wired to trigger MAME to register a coin has been added, plus the Mini-PAC default shift key (the '1' key on a keyboard, my '1 Player' button) allows me to press and hold the '1 Player' button plus 'Player 1 fire' and it inerts a coin.

I would just like to kill the insert coin function of the select key. Can anyone please help me?

RetroPie has many different MAME versions. Which one do you use?

Depending on the version, you could invoke MAME's tab menu and try to reconfigure or delete the coin key.
