Problems with 2 wireless USB controls
-
Hahaha, excellent.
Thanks, then comment if I could solve it. -
@shahiko but Definitely start with a fresh install. RetroPie is fun to configure to make it your own. It will also teach you how everything works together
-
Hi.
Well, I did a fresh install and I still have the same problem, control 1 becomes 2 and so on.
I also made the selection of controls by configuration and it keeps happening.
Can you help me @lostless? Thank you. -
@shahiko if you are using the same exact controllers, with both using the exact same wireless frequency, there is not much you can do. You will never know which Receiver either controller wants to connect to. As I said. It’s not a retropie problem. You might have to buy another type of controller that won’t interfere if you want to play 2 players. Other than that just unplug one to play single player.

But I don't understand, if each one connects to a usb port there should be no problems.
I read out there that you can change the ID of the control so that it is not mixed associated with each of the USB ports. -
@shahiko as far as I can see, the issue lies with the connection of the controller to the receiver. I’m assuming here, but if both controllers use the exact same frequency, they don’t have any way to tell which receiver to connect to. They will just connect to whatever receiver responds first. At the same time, the interference of the other receiver is also looking for a controller and sees ones turned on, and tries to connect to it. That’s why it disconnects and sometimes changes player. The same issue would happen with with the adaptors connected to a pc. Unless there is a sync button to create a unique identifier on the receiver or controller, this issue will exist. But as far as I can tell, It has noting to do with the pi or usb Ports.
Try unplugging one controller and see if you have any issues. -
Well I tried it, and you were right @lostless
When only one USB is connected, any of the controls works, always one by one. This confirms what you said anyone's signal raises. I am going to try to use them and if it is only confused between 1 and 2 it is not a problem, but if the buttons stop working, as it has already happened to me, yes. Thank you. -
Hi.
Well, I have finished setting up the retropie completely.
I have left to buy the new controls. My idea is to buy these:https://www.amazon.com/Logitech-940-000110-Gamepad-F310/dp/B003VAHYQY/ref=sr_1_3
@lostless, If I buy two I will have no problems, right?
Thank you.
-
@shahiko they will work. No problems. Player 1 will stay player 1 and player 2 will stay player 2, Depending what USB ports you use.
-
@lostless Thanks for all. Yesterday I bought two controls and for now they work, I have not been able to test them much. In time I will see how it works.
