Is it possible to not have a dedicated coin button for player 2?
-
My Setup: I am building a custom arcade cabinet using a standard image of RetroPie. It is a very small cabinet and I have limited space for buttons. It will be 2 player with 2 buttons for each player (will only be used for old arcade games).
My Question: I have very limited space for more buttons, apart from the player buttons, I was hoping to just have P1 Select (coin), P1 Start, and P2 Start. This works fine in testing, apart from when some 2 player arcade games require the coin for player 2 to be a separate button. Is there a way I can map some other button sequence to deposit a coin for P2? Ideally I would hold down the P1 Select (coin) button and press the P2 Start button as way to deposit a P2 coin, but I can figure out how that might work. Is there any alternative to having a dedicated P2 Select (coin) button?
I have had no luck searching online for an answer to this question. Forgive me if I am missing something obvious.

Talking for MAMEs own input-mapping-options (TAB-Menu) this might be possible by setting "Insert Coin P2" to "select" + "P2 Start".
Only issue would be that you would also insert a coin for P1 by doing that because you have "select" in that key-combo.
If it is about FBNeo i doubt this would be possible, but i am not sure. -
Thank you. Setting it in the TAB menu seems to work for Mame. Of the FBNeo games I tried, they don't seem to care where the credit comes from, as long as there is a credit to spare, either P1 or P2 can use it. I will keep testing.
Much appreciate your help.
