Retropie Atomiswave Rumble Fish 1/2 no background in the game
-
hey,
have the pi4 retropie 4.6
using lr-flycast with Atomiswave .
everything works just fine,
but when i playing Rumble Fish 1 or 2 im getting just a black background in the fighting game itself ...
any ideas how to make the background in the game to work ?
thanks -
@shavecat except if you are using some weird non-default settings that is breaking the game or a bad/old romset, it looks like another pi4 gles bug, it might be worth checking if the mesa driver bug workaround disabled in https://github.com/libretro/flycast/commit/8288faeb4cefabc5a65a8334322dfa7cc5fdf81f is unrelated to your issue

@barbudreadmon

Can't seem to reproduce this with the current version on
lr-flycast
on a Pi4, the background shows (in both games). Reset your core options and re-try. -
@mitu
i did that didnt not help :
can u write me your config files core and retrorach ? plz :) -

I have the default options - haven't changed them when starting the game. Same with RetroArch, it's the default configuration to which I added the RetroAchievement settings and enabled the FPS display.

@shavecat i'll ask again : are you sure you aren't using old/bad romsets ?
another theory, maybe you are using an old mesa driver ? -
Try all sort of roms still...
old mesa driver ?? what do u mean ?
and its the default retroch and core , will try to install it again... -

Don't try "all sort of roms", use the right romsets, aka latest mame romsets, how are we supposed to know if your issue could be related to the romsets or not with such a vague answer ? Same for your mslug6 issue...
-
@barbudreadmon
dont get what u mean ...
Try different roms of Rumble fish 1/2 still the same with the background all with the same names...
mslug6 as u see to in the answers there im not the only one that it dosent move well...p.s if it was a bad rom or so it just wont play the game and just quit back to the emulator

Do you have a valid MAME ROMset collection ? As @barbudreadmon said, there's no point in trying various ROMS, get the correct one to be sure. I've been testing both games with the MAME ROMs for the 0.220 version.

@mitu
will give it a go , thanks :) -

No, but seeing that kind of comment maybe i should indeed force-close the core if the crcs mismatch, the same way i did with FBNeo. Saved me dozens of hours of debugging with people like you who are unable to give a proper answer about the romset they are using.

@barbudreadmon
how do i check my romset?
and sorry for all the dozens of hours u spent bro ;) -

https://retropie.org.uk/docs/Validating%2C-Rebuilding%2C-and-Filtering-ROM-Collections/
You could also check versus the ROmset files on adb.arcadeitalia.net, but that's just a one-time thing.
