      Hi,

I was glad to find out there is raspi4 version of RetroPie available, thanks. It seems to run OK, but I don't get to text based dialog menus. E.g. if I go to RetroPie -> Audio, or any of the items in ES RetroPie menu, screen just goes blank.

I see from ssh connection, that there should be menu open. It shows dialog lines in ps listing. I just can't see them in TV. I believe this is 4K TV.

This is the latest install, the 4.6 for Raspi 4 from download page, and I updated all raspbian packages.

I wanted to go to menus to change the emulator for n64, as the first try Donkey Kong didn't start. Same with some other games, I'd need to change the emulator. I know I get that done over SSH, but it's a bit clumsy.

I don't see anything related in .emulationstation/es_log.txt. System probably thinks I see menus fine, and actually pressing pad I know I get out of them, so this is only a display problem.

Have you tried forcing 1080p video mode via raspi-config ? Running games in 4k is still to performance intensive for the Pi4 (though you can change the default video mode via runcommand).

@mitu thanks, that's it. I forced the hdmi group to 1 and mode to 16 to get 1080, and now the menus appear on the screen.
