I have a fresh install of the Rasbian RetroPie img on a RPi 3, and the only things that I have done since the install are connect to WiFi and run the update option from the RetroPie configuration (which also updates all the system packages).

If I attempt to go to \\retropi\ or \\192.168.43.184\, I get the error 0x80070043

      If I go to \\192.168.43.184\bios or \\retropie\bios\, I get the error 0x80004005

The crazy part is that if I use MiXplorer on my Samsung Galaxy S10+, I can access the Samba shares by using the url smb://192.168.43.184 but can't access it with smb://retropie

Based on another post here, I did make sure that Client for Microsoft Networks is enabled for my laptop's WiFi card, and it is.

You might want to have a look at this article and see if it could be your issue.
