Completed games function
-
Retropie is great bit it needs a function to mark games as completed. Preferably with a visual component so you see it clearly in the list. Aldo sorting games by completed or not would be very helpfull.
-
You could hide certain games and play in Kiosk mode. (to keep the game and not see it) Or rename the game in ES with a character at the beginning or end. (to keep the game visible)
-
Sure it might be somewhat fixed with tedious workarounds. Byt this is a feature you really expect to find in a software like this. Also it cant be that hard to ad since its a pretty simple feature.
-
It doesn't sound simple. What constitutes a "completed" game?
So...you want RetroPie to make this determination automatically...and EmulationStation to automatically change a variable for that entry in that system's XML file...on Windows, Mac, and Linux...and maintain that change post-scraping with various scapers. This sounds like something that could much more easily be done with Retroarch Acheivements as opposed to RetroPie. Maybe I'm not understanding the end goal.
-
Of course i dont expect ES to make a Choice when a game i completed or not. Just a simple UI thing that lets the user set a game as completed and preferably use this setting to sort games.
-
OK, that sounds easier. So you're looking for an addition to ES to add a filterable variable called "completed" (or similar). Without any changes to the code there is the "sort name" field, but that would move the title in the list when sorting by name. It would still be visible in Kiosk ad Kid modes.
-
Yes thats exactly what I want. But of i use the workaround renaming my completed games with a * infront wont the scraping get fucked Up?
-
Not exactly. Recently I was renaming JUST the ROM display name in ES (via its menu) with a Z in the front to track my progress for something else and this worked fine UNTIL I scraped the entire system and then all of my renaming edits were stepped on. You could still scrape a single game within ES without losing this data, but using Skyskraper (outside of ES) and scraping the entire system stepped on my data.
-
Not an option for me then since I use skyscraper when ever i add new games. I really hope they add this as a feature.
