RPi4 USB ports guide
-
So I have my RPi4 almost fully configured, but there's a thing that puzzles me. There are 4 USB ports and I have 4 USB devices connected:
- an XBox 360 controller wireless dongle
- an Xbox 360 replacement gamepad wireless dongle
- a wireless mouse/keyboards combo wireless dongle
- an external drive containing roms
Everything works, but I'm convinced I've messed something up, because after pairing both gamepad LEDs indicate they're set as the Player 2. To be honest I've just plugged them up randomly and I'm guessing there's actually an order it should be done with.
Can anyone give me a hand or a link?

I remember somethink like this in retropie-setup (not only for nes game, in general):

Thanks a lot, I'll take a look.

@Chupachups That was it! Thank you!

@lostless Nope, only one of these dongle is an original XBox 360 dongle. The other one is a replacement dongle and doesn’t work with the original gamepad.
-
@gordonfreemanjr You mean its a 3rd party controller with a 3rd party dongle? If so, i've misunderstood. But i have an official and 3rd party usb dongle for xbox360 controllers and both work with 4 official xbox 360 controllers

@lostless Yes, I’m aware. I was counting on it actually: I had an original Xbox 360 gamepad woth a broken dongle. I ordered a replacement combo and hoped that the replacement dongle would work for both. It doesn’t though: it connects over radio.

@Chupachups It worked for a brief moment, and now it stopped working.
Again, both gamepads set as the Player 2 after reboot. The configuration is set for the black to count as the Player 1; no luck for now.
Any other ideas?

@gordonfreemanjr Ignore what the controller is showing on its LED face. Do the controllers actually function, in game, as player one and two? That all that should matter.

I agree. My bluetooth Wii U Pro clone gamepads also only light the first player LED even if they are working fine for different players in Retropie.
