      I'm having weird things happen.
First time I downloaded retropie fine and had roms etc. Then I put pi into a retro snes case, booted it and saw smoke and lost everything on sd card.
Since then ive bought new sd cards and now I can't even get retropie on sd card without odd things happening to sd cards.
Had a 64gb one suddenly show as 250mb after using etcher to copy retropie image. And that keeps happening now. I have managed to use disk part to get sd card back to normal. I just need some advice on what may be happening.

      Thanks in advanced

@dand2210 Windows will only show you the boot partition and not the Linux one. If you write the image, and put it in the Pi, it'll show the whole amount of storage. I'd suggest going through the documentation, specifically the part on first setup.

@markyh444 oh I see. Maybe I didn't bother looking at the sd card the first time I installed.
Everything was working fine, I had roms and Co troller working and everything was fine.
Not sure what happened with the smoke etc but I was using a phone charger. Si ce then I've purchased at proper charger.
I will again now and plus into the pi. Wil let you know if it works

It's never a good sign when the "magic smoke" escapes. I'm shocked your pi is booting at all...
