Help with my 8bitdo m30 bluetooth gamepad
-
Hi guys.
I'm new in this forum and I arrive here looking for a solution with my problem with my gamepad, this gamepad: www.8bitdo.com/m30, that I use in the latest version on retropie in my pi 4b.
I go to configuration menu on retropie, then bluetooth menu. In this point I press 'start' on the gamepad for 3 seconds and after that 'pair' for 2 seconds. Now I select 'register and connect to bluetooth device'. I should find a device named '8bitdo M30 gamepad' but I don't. I connect the gamepad with the USB wire then go to 'configure input' and I see '1 gamepad detected'. In this point I press all the buttons in the gamepad for a short period of time but the configuration process of the gamepad doesn't start.
I have no idea what is happening with this gamepad. Could anybody give me help with this issue?
Kind regards.

Hello and welcome to this forum.
I don't have an 8bitdo controller myself, but did you try the 8bitdo section of the Docs?
You should also provide all of the information that is asked for in https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first.

Make sure that the m30 has the latest firmware and have it set in "switch" mode. You should then be able to pair it and configure inputs as you attempted.

Pressing start alone won't work. You have to hold down y and start. When you do this and press pair, you'll see something called "pro controller". Once your controller is registered you have to then go back and use either a keyboard or a USB controller to calibrate your new one again.
Press start on your keyboard (I use the enter key for this) and then scroll down to controller input. You should now be able to set up your new Bluetooth m30 controller. -
Hi guys.
Thank you very much for your help. Finally, I could configure the 8bitdo m30 bluetooth gamepad for Retropie 4.6 but I have a problem. I need to configure the gamepad everytime I turn on the Raspberry Pi 4 model b with 2 GB because I can't pair the gamepad with Retropie when I turn on the Pi.
I test several buttoms configurations: "Start" 2 seconds + "Select" 3 seconds, "Start" 2 seconds + "Pair" 3 seconds,... but it didn't function at all. There is any special buttom combination that I should press to pair my gamepad with Retropie when I turn on the Pi?
Kind regards.
