    VLC Player Support for Splash Screens?

      Per the official Raspberry Pi forums, once the kernel is switched to 5.4 the display driver can be switched to the full KMS driver. This switch renders the OMXplayer useless as there will be no support for it moving forward. VLC will be supported though.

      So are there any plans to provide options to the user of RetroPie to use either omxplayer or vlc as the default player to play splashscreens? I couldn't find any past threads about vlc player already supported and I see that the current script is only written for omxplayer.
