      Dear all,

      I have read a lot about interchangeability of SD cards among the several pi models, but as of now have not found a solution for my problem. Apparently this should not pose a problem in most cases, but certain settings in the "config.txt" and "cmdline.txt" (see below) can prevent cards from booting in one model that work in others. But what are they?

      Some facts:

      • Raspbian 9 with retropie (4.14.50-v7+) June 2018
      • partitions labelled "retropie" ond "boot"

      Symptoms:

      • card works flawlessly in Pi 3B
      • in Pi Zero W it's stuck at rainbow square boot screen

      Why insist on this old System? It contains tweaks, which I am not able to reproduce.

      Any ideas?

      config.txt: (only active options)

      hdmi_force_hotplug=1
      hdmi_group=2
      hdmi_mode=16
      dtparam=audio=on
      gpu_mem_256=128
      gpu_mem_512=256
      gpu_mem_1024=256
      overscan_scale=1
      kernel=kernel3g1g.img

      cmdline.txt:

      dwc_otg.lpm_enable=0 console=serial0,115200 console=tty1 root=PARTUUID=77bbfa72-02 rootfstype=ext4 elevator=deadline fsck.repair=yes rootwait loglevel=3 consoleblank=0 plymouth.enable=0

        @sebar said in SD card not booting in Zero W, in 3B it does:

        We don't support 3rd party systems, we don't know how they've been configured and set-up.
        Your image has a special kernel, which might as well not work on a Pi 0 if it was optimized for the Pi3 CPU.
