Retroarch Auto Save/Load State not working...

I recently picked up a Raspberry Pi 3B+, and was running retropie up until yesterday with no issues, then all of a sudden my autosave/autoload stopped working, I checked the config files and its for sure on, and I already used the "resetromdirs" tool to no avail, any help would be great as I can't seem to find anyone with this same issue on the forums or throughout google.

Update: Installing Retroarch from source seemed to do the trick.
