I can’t find a definitive answer for my question and require some assistance.

Can I use an IPAC2 in each individual arcade controller for a two player setup connected via USB to Retropie.
(I know you can do it for a 4 Player setup, one IPAC2 for P1 & P2 and the second IPAC2 for P3 & P4. But can’t find anything on my issue)

I have contacted Andy @ Ultimarc and he is not sure and thinks the second IPAC2 will be seen as Player 3.

If you can what is the wiring configuration?
On the Player 1 IPAC2 controller, I connect all switches to the Player 1 inputs and leave the Player 2 inputs disconnected and then on the Player 2 IPAC2 controller, connect all switches to the Player 2 inputs and leave the Player 1 inputs disconnected.
      Is this correct?

Can anyone offer some advice? Thanks.
