      Hey, folks!

I've been going absolutely crazy trying to keep my resolution at 720p. No matter what I do, even when I uncomment those settings in the config file for hdmi out, it retropie refuses to stay at 720p for more than one boot.

I tried to change it on the system itself too, but then that just gave me a black screen during every boot. I'm at my wits end here. I have a 4k TV, but the pi4 is abysmal for 4k emulation (ofc). So, I'm trying to force 720p on my display. I've gotten it to boot in 720p before, but during the next boot it always pops on in 4k. Driving me absolutely nuts!!

Any insight into what I can do?

Which config file. You've not provided much info. Please post details of what you edited in which files and post the configs via a pastebin site. And give details of setup as detailed in first link.
