      I recently got this game to finally load with the 2003 + emulator. However, I simply cannot get the controls to work.

      I'm using an ipac that's working with all my other games, but not with this game. I can do a couple of thing successfully, F1 to insert coin, CTRL to start, CTRL to Punch, ALT to Jump, and then TAB+1 to exit ROM back to my favorites list. But other movements or keyboard keys or buttons from my setup don't work.

      I've gone into the retroarch.cfg in the ALL folder and set the input_libretro_device_p1 = 3. I've gone and inserted the following lines into the retroarch.cfg ini the mame-libretro folder:
      input_player1_a = "ctrl"
      input_player1_b = "alt"
      input_player1_y = "z"
      input_player1_x = "shift"
      input_player1_start = "num1"
      input_player1_select = "f1"
      input_player1_l = "space"
      input_player1_r = "x"
      input_player1_left = "left"
      input_player1_right = "right"
      input_player1_up = "up"
      input_player1_down = "down"

      Still not working. I've even created a rampage.zip.cfg with that same config above and still it doesn't work. It all works the same. I can jump, punch and insert a coin. Is there something that should be disabled or enabled that I just can't find?

        I think Mame2003-plus uses analog controls by default - so if you don't have a Left or Right joystick, D-Pad only won't work.
        Open the RGUI and go to Controls -> Port 1 Controls, then toggle the Analog to Digital Type to Left Analog - the D-pad should work now. You can then save the game remap file so it's applied to the game automatically with the Save Game Remap File from the Controls menu.

          There is also a core option to set the controller type to digital instead of analog.

            Thank you both. I will try this in the RetroArch Gui. @mahoneyt944 , where is this "core option" ? Is this also in the RetroArch GUI?

                I don't see that option. I see the Main Menu; Load Core, Load Content, Load Recent, Scan Content, Netplay, Online Updater, Settings, Information, Configurations, Help and Quick RetroArch. None of them have selections in the second column.

                In the bottom left hand corner I see 1.5.0 - No Core

                  @spanishsnowman Your build is way too old. I'd just start fresh with the latest official image.

                    @Darksavior You mean my build of Pi3, RetroArch or all of the above? That's something I've never done before. Perhaps I should look into that?

                      @spanishsnowman 1.5.0 is the retroarch version and was released in 2017. I wouldn't waste my time troubleshooting that.
