There is this guy that created a great script to be able to exit out any emulator by holding a button for 5 seconds. This is great for my arcades and u don’t have to use hotkey or button combination.

I’ve switched to using attract mode instead of emulationstation but it seems to only work in emulationstation.

I’m not good with coding or scripts. Does anyone know or if it’s possible to fix this. Maybe make a new script that would work.

Here is the reddit post and it’s the kill switch to exit all emulators

@MISTERHOLLYW00D @cyperghost and @meleu have helped me tremendously with a very Similar issue in the past. Hopefully one of them will see this and help out. I know we came up with a script that worked back in the day that just exited and emulator if it was running if the run command was used to launch. I posted the script on one of my nes pi posts long ago. But I know @cyperghost has refined his exit scripts and made a generic script for all sorts of power controllers (mouseberry, retroflag, ect. ) maybe we can pull out just the exit scripts from there?

@MISTERHOLLYW00D if you don’t use save, load and volume control it’s a great script, but if you use multiple functions a hotkey it’s very helpful

I use the hotkeys for my retropie on tv...but for the arcade I find it much friendly without. When I need hotkey I just grab the wireless keyboard. The volume switch is already on the cabinet I’m using.

I have also notice on the new retropie image on retroarch hot key binds they added a double tap of the exit. Not sure if code on that can be adjusted as a hard press instead?
