I just recently got a Dolphen bar for the Light Gun games for my Pi

It's been real fun playing these light gun games

But I'm curious can I exspand my Horizon a bit

Could you play Wii or /and PlayStation 2 games

If you could , any links to follow for instructions ... or any special method or set up to run these games ?

Yes, but only on a PC - RetroPie runs on a PC also, not only on a Raspberry Pi. The Pi does not have enough power for Wii/PS2 games.

@escc1986 they seem to be around 2gb or less, on A PC of 2012 I have they run fine with high end chip, so you should be fine running ps2 and Wii.

No need to be sorry :) , you were trying to help and i appreciate that

Yeah seems like a higher end computer that I may not have lying around , Thank you , I was curious

Do you happen to know any cheap alternative to getting a high end device that can run retropie compatible with Wii or PS2 games ?

I understand that an Odroid N2+ runs Dolphin/Gamecube reasonably well. My 2012 vintage PC just about runs PS2. GTA Vice City Stories and GTA Liberty City Stories on the PSP both run fairly well on a Pi4 with PPSSPP.

                    Currently running:
Retropie 4.8.9 on a Pi Zero 2W (Overclock Settings: CPU 1400Mhz)
                    ES-DE on a GMKtec K6 (Windows 11, 32GB RAM)

@escc1986 I keep looking at softmodding my wii for gamecube and wii games, I know it won't run PS2 and doesn't do retropie but it will certainly run wii and gamecube with pretty much no problems. I've also heard good things about the N2 but that's not in the budget right now. I don't think there's a SBC capable of handling PS2 and wii well yet.

I have never heard about the N2 , thank you for suggesting that device , I will look into it

I have a modded Wii ... its fantastic , I enjoy Wii games , especially the light gun games , Wii is perfect for light gun games :)

I guess I want a device hooked up to my tv for me and my family that can watch movies , play PS2 games and wii light gun games

If any other devices come to mind for anyone I would love to know

Thank you everyone for the advice

With PS2 being so hard to emulate without x86 I'm surprised there isn't more of a hardware modding scene for the
                          oiginal hardware.

                          Currently running:

                            @George-Spiggott

Yeah I know huh , your absolutely right

But then again I don't know much about the modding scene , but from you informing me I had no idea there wasn't as much ,

Well with the pi and the new advancements it has made and to continue to make , in sure we will see more development for future Pi's with consoles we can not emulate in the Pi 4

Can you recommend any computers out there in the World Wide Web on the cheaper side that can emulate x86 ... i wound the mind giving it a go if I had some proper guidance and if I have the cash to purchase one

This is your best bet for PS2. https://pcsx2.net/getting-started.html It is only available on PC, the specs needed are in the link. There is an ARM PS2 emulator called Play! You need a fairly beefy ARM device to get it to run well. If you have an Android phone or tablet you could test it out, unless it is really high end then it will be fairly slow.

                              Currently running:
Retropie 4.8.9 on a Pi Zero 2W (Overclock Settings: CPU 1400Mhz)
                              ES-DE on a GMKtec K6 (Windows 11, 32GB RAM)

Thank you George , you have been most helpful

Thank you for the link , I'm thinking I want to try it out , hope it works on my machine

I will try on unbuntu first to see ... except I can't find a way to find my specs of my computer ?
