help with interesting command line behavior
-
Pi Model or other hardware: 4 B
Power Supply: 5.1V || 3 A
USB Devices connected: keyboard, mouse
Controller used: arcade buttons and joysticks via USB Encoder
32 GB SD Card (retropie), 64 GB USB Flash Drive (roms and stuff)I am experiencing some interesting behavior from my command line interface. I don't remember doing anything in particular to cause this.
I can still exit it by hitting Ctrl + Alt + Sys Rq + O, but this happens to the command line almost every time I type a command. All my controllers are working fine in emulationstation and in my ROMs AFAIK. None of the commands I try inputting in the lines starting with '>' actually run

You forgot the second pair of quotes at the end of the path.

I know the command is wrong, but I'm not sure what's up with the other lines. I can't seem to get back to the first line.
-
The behaviour is caused by the missing quotes. You can end it by pressing
ctrl+c

Alright, thanks. This was driving me a bit mental

🙂
In general, if the command line does strange things, it's a good idea to check if the command was entered correctly. As in this case, one missing or wrong character can be the culprit.
