Hello, i am new to retropie and decided to used my old pc to install it
It is an acer aspire with an i5-4440, video onboard intel 4600, 8gb ram and 240GB kingston ssd using a Logitech dual action controller
I installed brand new Ubuntu 20.04.1 LTS (basic install) (did 2 different installs, wiped and started over)
The issue i have is while doing the basic install of Retropie (RetroPie-Setup version: 4.6.7 (4490211)), i followed the instructions on here https://retropie.org.uk/docs/Debian/ but when i do the basic install, about 10minutes in, i have the error : Could not successfully build lr-mame2003 - Arcade emu MAME 0.78 port for libretro (home/retro/Desktop/Retropie-Setup/tmp/build/lr-mame2003/mame2003_libretro.so not found)

I tried after doing update RetroPie-Setup script, same error
I copied a nes rom into the folder, and the rom worked , played and went fine (didn't test audio as i am plugged on a monitor), i have 23 folders created in the roms folder, i don't see a SNES folder, so i would guess some are missing in there.
I did a pastebin.com or the log with the first 200 lines and 20 last because it was too large
      https://pastebin.com/uwPaT6Sm
I saw the git hack of libretro its been a few days and no one mentioned any issue like mine, so i don't know.
      Thank you!

That looks like an upstream repository error, there's nothing on the RetroPie's side that can be done. You can install the lr-mame2003-plus and see if it works.

I saw the git hack of libretro its been a few days and no one mentioned any issue like mine, so i don't know.

The repositories should be fine now, they have been restored.

i have 23 folders created in the roms folder, i don't see a SNES folder, so i would guess some are missing in there.

You should check the logs for any other errors, lr-snes9x should be installed in the base installation and create the snes folder.

Thanks, i tried again this morning and it went further, so it seems that it stopped because it was down for a couple of hours while i installed it.
Today its another that seems to be down as it went further in the installation process

fatal: unable to access 'https://git.code.sf.net/p/libpng/code/': Failed to connect to git.code.sf.net port 443: Connection timed out

I guess i will wait a little, thanks again.

Everything is fine now, the site came back online, restarted the install and it went fine till the end.
              Thanks!
